"May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of His hand." - Irish blessing

We have now finished up our main tour of the Ring of Kerry. It turned out to be a very mixed bag: pouring rain to overwhelming fog to glorious sun, most nights in beautiful campgrounds but some in a fun hostel, sea to mountains to lakes and forests.
Some highlights from the Ring since leaving Cahersiveen and the Skelligs:

Our campground in Caherdaniel and the nearby sea. We managed to see some beautiful coastlines.

One of the views which best reaffirmed the vision of Ireland I had before departing was that of sloping green fields falling off over rocky cliffs into frothing ocean. A surprising discovery was the beautiful beaches. If it wasn't freezing this week, we probably would have even taken a quick plunge, they looked that inviting.

Another highlight: Sheep - watching. There was one little white lamb in a field we stopped by, who was bleating annoyingly and we were wondering why. We watched it try to get a drink of milk from under one of the sheep, and that got it in enough trouble to get pinned up against the fence by the horns of a ram. When it then started eyeing the creek through the fence and continued to bleat, we figured out it must just be thirsty. We watched, entertained now, as it searched for a passage through the fence. Joined by another lamb, he managed to muster up the courage to cross under. With his friend, they were now happily frollicking by the water, drinking their fill. But, of course, the time came to find their way back into the field. Which could mean nothing other than more bleating...
Nearing the end of our large loop, we came back into the National Park at a point refered to as Ladie's View. Here, after many aborted attempts of capturing the immensity of the space in a photo, we settled on this one here:

Overall, we feel this part of our trip was very successful. Thanks for reading, next we will be taking a quick stop in England and then on to Normandy, France.
